More Thrilling Summer Activities

Last Friday the weather was forecasted to be overcast, windy and cool (as in 92 ish degrees). Given the cooler weather, Amy and I seized the opportunity to do an outside (non-swimming related) activity, and we decided on a visit to The Old Mormon Fort.
Big mistake.

The weather was incorrect, so we were severely overheated and did not last long.

Happily for us they did have an inside movie to watch and also had this pictograph activity for the kids to do:

Then we headed outside.

My kids hitching rides:

On an extra hot day we headed over to the Silver Nugget to do some bowling. It is no secret that I am a fan of the Silver Nugget. But it should be noted that I am only a fan because of the cheap price. Everything else about the place, shall we say, sucks.

When we first arrived we were greeted with this sign (which is not that unusual), but all the same kind of annoying:

When we were finally helped we were told that they were all out of bumper lanes! The horror for the children!!! But really we weren't all that upset because I feel they must learn the non-bumper bowling skill soon.

Even with his alternative bowling style Jackson killed it during the first game and beat the other kids by 30 and 40 points, respectively.

Liam and McKinna got the hang of it in the second game and all 3 of the them tied. Megan still has a little work to do :).

Sade said she didn't want to bowl, but then changed her mind (while we were in the middle of a game). I let her bowl for me a few times which I am sure accounts for my dismal scores:

When we were finished we decided to get an ice cream cone at the snack bar, only to be met with this sign:

The Silver Nugget and I may have to break up soon.

You and Amy are brave women! I braved the Mormon fort once and it was enough for this lifetime :) I have never bowled at the silver nugget, I'll have to check it out one of these days. Good job Jackson! He is ready for the pros :)

They really do need to learn how to bowl without bumpers...we all did as kids, right???

Bowling without bumpers is hard. Way to go! Apparently they need a lot of breaks at the Silver Nugget. Good thing you guys always have so much fun!
