An Abundance Of Miscellany

In no particular order:

 

1. Just a man and his cone:

 

 

I took this picture this past summer on a particularly hot day in the midst of a particularly hot week. I wrote on Instagram, "Um....it's 8 pm and still 110 degrees. Ice cream makes the park ALMOST bearable."

 

2. All dressed up for the first Seahawks game of the season:

 

 

3. Megan snapped this picture without my knowledge and I just recently found out about it. I wrote on Insta, "My little twin. Only born 30 years apart."

 

 

This was a completely unintentional clothing match. I didn't even realize our shoes were the same.

 

4. Oh my gosh! I really should have purchased this wig. I keep thinking about it.

6. With the advent of our new dental insurance I finally made an appointment. I wrote on Insta; "So today I had my first dentist appointment in 13 years (I know!) AND...it turns out my teeth are in perfect condition! No cavities 36 years and counting!"

 

 

It's a miracle! I was truly expecting terrible news.

 

7. I snapped this picture of Sadie at her first little league practice and wrote on Insta, "Look at that ponytail amidst a sea of boys. Sade is the only girl on her little league team this year."

 

 

The team is lucky to have her. :)

Wet - n - Wild - All Summer Long

We once again bought season passes to Wet - n - Wild. Although we didn't go near as many times as we did the first year, we certainly went enough to get our monies worth. A few pics from a few different visits over the summer:

12 X 12 - September 2014

I forgot it was the 12th until after I dropped the kids off at school. But our morning was a typical one: Breakfast, lunches packed, back packs ready. Eric drops Megan off at seminary in the morning, and I drop off Jackson and Sadie. Eric's work truck had been vandalized in front of our home (I know!) so he came with me to drop off the youngest two, and then I drove him (just around the corner) to pick up his truck at the auto body shop.

 

Transferring of work paraphernalia from one car to the other:

 

 

I happened to have an awful cold so after getting home I ate some breakfast, took some Sudafed and Ibuprofen, and then sat down on the couch to rest and watch T.V. while I waited for the medicine to kick in. I watched "Fixer Upper" (I love that show) and about half way in I got a phone call from Amy. Miraculously after the phone call the medicine kicked in and I was able to go about my daily business (i.e. cleaning the house).

 

I also spent some time working on my baseball "Team Mom" duties. Not one ounce of me wanted to be team mom, but NO ONE volunteered, so I said if absolutely no one else could do it I would.

 

It's kind of a lot of work:

 

 

My 6 hours home alone flew by and soon it was time to pick up Megan from school. I generally drive her home since it is so close, but on this day we ran some errands.

 

First to get gas:

 

 

I know, I know. The awesomeness is overwhelming.

 

And then to get some groceries. Vitamin water is Megan's school lunch drink of choice. Sadie's is V8 (she LOVES it), while Jackson's is a fruit/vegetable juice box. (I try to avoid the high fructose corn syrup at all costs. A few years ago I would buy the Capri Sun flavored waters thinking they were a healthier alternative, only to find out that they too have high fructose corn syrup in them! Oy vey!).

 

 

Then it was time to pick up the little ones:

 

 

Sadie is generally in an angry mood right after school (she is still adjusting to being there all day), but after a snack and a little decompressing time (usually on my bed) she recovers.

 

Have I mentioned that little league is consuming our lives? On this particular day Jackson had practice at 5. We were rushing to get out the door so Jackson and Sadie ate their dinner on the way:

 

 

While Jackson had practice, Sadie also practiced. Initially I played catch with her, but since I am afraid of the ball she eventually decided to play by herself:

 

 

She has a passion for baseball and wants to play catch ALL OF THE TIME.

Jackson's team is just plain cute. It melts my heart when they all go down on one knee to hear instructions from their coaches:

 

 

After practice we stopped to get ice cream:

 

 

Then we headed home and waited from Eric and Megan to arrive. They had been at the Friday night youth session of stake conference.

First Day Of School - 2014

Way back in August the kids started school! Happy, happy, joy, joy. We love summer but we were all ready to get back into the school routine.

 

This year they started at a brand new school. Still Somerset but a new campus super close to our house. And one that includes a high school, so once again all 3 of the kids are at the same school.

 

9th grade for Megan!

 

 

It was really difficult for Megan to decide where to go to high school, but so far she enjoys Losee (except for the uniforms). She has lots of friends there, early morning seminary doesn't start until 6:30 a.m., and she has already learned so much (I'm quite sure she didn't learn one single new thing last year, except for in math).

 

Jackson started 5th grade!

 

 

Doesn't it look like he is saying, "Hey, what's up?"

 

 

Last year Jackson was very fortunate to have so many of his best friends in his class, but this year not so much. Not many kids he knew transferred to the new school, and he ended up in a class without any friends. They also rotate classes (like in middle school) and he initially wasn't a big fan of it. But with time he has adjusted, made friends, and is happily enjoying 5th grade.

 

Sade started 1st grade!

 

 

She loves it. Just like her sister she adjusts to new situations/teachers very well. She has made lots of friends, loves specials (especially music) and pretty much enjoys everything about school.

Sadie about died of embarrassment when Eric and I insisted on walking her to class. She truly just wanted us to leave:

 

 

Although the picture doesn't show it, before leaving Eric and I checked on Jackson in his class and he turned around, smiled and waved to us. No embarrassment from him:

 

 

The Losee Lion was on hand to greet the kids on the first day. My kids refused to take a picture with him, but not me!

 

 

Having all 3 kids gone at school all day has brought mixed emotions for me. Mostly it is FABULOUS (my house is clean, I hang out with friends, go to the gym, run errands, read, watch T.V.), but I do feel a little bit of confliction with regards to going back to work. We will see.
