Stuffed Animal Sleeping

One Trip To Time Out + One Really Tired Girl =

Stuffed Animal Sleeping

A few hours later I went to wake her up and found that at some point she had climbed into bed.

We moved her from her toddler bed to a big bed a few days ago. To say she was reluctant to sleep in it would be an understatement. I had to pull out the big guns and bribe her with a trip Target to buy her her own nail polish. It worked!

Four For Friday

1. As referenced by the previous post, my mom has been in town. While here I was intensely jealous of her hair and decided mine must be cut, and my bangs had to make a come back.

Now I just have to get Eric to put some highlights in it this weekend, and I will be all set. Please do not enlarge this picture. I currently have 3 of the most enormous zits on my face that I have quite possibly ever had. It's seriously bad. My hormones are out of whack!

2. This is probably only funny to Eric, Megan, Jackson, and I, but seeing Sadie dressed up like Spiderman had us laughing. A Lot.

She informed us that the chest muscles looked like big boobs.

3. Sade's also got a very special present from Grandma that she has been coveting.

Fake nails. It's fairly weird.

4. And finally, don't you wish you were at my house for dinner the other night?

Nothing quite like scorched B.L.T.'s for dinner!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Grandma Came To Town!

My mom came to town!

The excitement of a visit from her is unparalleled as far as the kids are concerned.

We did a lot of hanging out while she was here, but also managed to visit The Springs Preserve.

Sadie WOULD NOT watch the flash flood exhibit (my favorite part of The Springs Preserve), so we waited outside.

She was terrified even being outside of the room.

We also did some shopping, a lot of eating, and a lot of playing. Eric and I did go out one night and used the Terry Fator tickets I won. I would recommend the show to ANYONE. It was great! Seriously go.

12 X 12 - May 2011

I started the day off by getting Jackson ready for school.

Every. Single. Day. Jackson starts to walk out of the house without his backpack. And...Every. Single. Day. I say to him, "What are you forgetting?" I have no idea how he remembers to bring it back home with him.

Megan had been home a couple of days sick with a fever and sore throat. However yesterday she was almost better, and seemed to make a complete recovery after lunch. Thank goodness!

Sade as batgirl.

I spent the morning cleaning out closets. I was able to fill these 2 HUGE (they look much bigger in person),  garbage bags with only my clothes!

I finally got ready for the day around 2.

I can find Sadie at least once a day applying her lipstick in front of the mirror.

Megan decided to break into a piggy bank she has had since she was 3. It hasn't been touched in probably 5 years. I imagined she had about $20 in there, but ended up with almost $80!

Picking little Jacksey up from school.

We met up with Eric at Chipotle for dinner.

Then headed out to watch his basketball game.

When we arrived home, he had a few messages from a hotel whose ESPN channel was not working. This constitutes an emergency in hotel world, so Eric had to leave around 9 to go fix it.

Before bed, Sade helped some of her stuffed animals do ballet.

I then put the kids to bed, watched T.V., and read parts of 3 different books. I just couldn't decide which one to read! It's quite a good problem to have.

Mother's Day 2011

I had a nice, totally relaxing Mother's Day this year. I got up early, took a shower, and then climbed back in bed when the kids came in with breakfast.

They had a little help from Dad.

I was then showered with numerous homemade cards and gifts. It's truly the best part of Mother's Day.

I also received beautiful flowers, along with a video camera from Eric, since our broke a few months ago. I spent the rest of the morning at church, then came home and had a long nap, followed by a long bike ride. It was a pretty perfect day.

Sadie Says

I know I just posted about Sade, but I don't want to forget anything about her 3 year-old self.

As we walked outside on our way to church yesterday morning:

"Dad it's sure windy today. The wind is like air-conditioning for the earth."

Baby Gaga

Little Sade's......All of her babies have names. Her very favorite is named Ella. But the baby she has been playing with most lately, she has given the moniker: Baby Gaga, as in Lady Gaga.

I didn't know Sade was such a devoted fan.

She has also finally learned to peddle! I won't go into details, but it was a long time coming.

She's made a few inappropriate 3 year old comments as of late.

Including: "That man looks like he has a baby in his tummy!" Obviously this was said loudly, in full hearing of said man, with the tummy.

She also had this conversation with Eric yesterday as he was leaving for basketball.

Sade: "Will you be gone a long time?"
Eric: "No, not very long."
Sade: "Well yeah. Because all you have to do is dribble the ball and throw it in the basket."
Eric: "That's true."
Sade: "I bet there will be a lot of black guys there."
Eric: "What?"
Sade: "Well, and probably a lot of white guys too."

Obviously she hasn't watched much church ball.

Yes...Sadie did choose her own hair adornment in the above picture.
