Miscellaneous Monday - June

Miscellaneous June pictures! (so far)

1. You think Jackson could maybe use his own Seahawks jersey?

2. The first week of June Eric was out of town. Sade took full advantage by sneaking into my bed every morning (around 1 am):

I didn't mind.

3. Couple of pics of my cute Jackson:

And my cute girls:

4. We have spent a couple of days of summer vacation deep cleaning our rooms. I thought Jackson  had grown out of his love of cars (and monster trucks), but the cleaning reawakened his love. At least for one afternoon.

5. I sort of love this pic of Sade. For some reason it reminds me that she is still little:

6. We have been to see a couple of movies since school got out. First Maleficent!

WE LOVED IT!

I wrote on Instagram, "Its been a long time since I have been to a movie where the entire audience clapped at the end. Maleficent is GOOD."

But then we went to see "How To Train Your Dragon 2,"

And the audience clapped at the end of it too! Say what?

It was fine, but not clap worthy, in my opinion (IMO).

7. Poor Sade has been rather exhausted this summer and has fallen asleep multiple times on the couch:

I wrote on Insta, "Summer is so much more exhausting that school ever thought of being."

8. And finally, the highlight of my day a while back.

Sade ordered the number 3 kids meal from Chipotle. When she got her rice she asked in all seriousness, "Why does my rice say hashtag 3?" #signofthetimes #sadbutfunny

Miscellaneous Monday - May

Behind once again. These pictures are from May people!

Mostly Instagrammed (with Instagrammed captions)"

1. "The heat got to all of us today." #dramaticcarry

2. "Sade is a stick your foot out of the window type of gal."

3. "Jackson at track & field practice." #whiteboyCANjump

4. "Found this gem on my phone." #gangstaselfie

5. "How to set the table when you're 6."

6. "3rd place victories for both Jackson and Sade in the ward Memorial Day 5k. Jackson for running and Sadie for biking. Jackson reported that he ALMOST threw up during the last lap."

(FYI: The two people who came in first and second on the run were both adult male marathon runners. Jackson is a good little runner!).

7. These were non-Instagrammed. I have a new morning obsession food: Crusty bread dunked in vinegar and oil. It's a problem. But it has also been entertaining as occasionally when I pour the vinegar into the oil it makes fun designs.

12 X 12 - June 2014

Sade consistently wakes up during the night. Upon awakening she comes into my room and intently stares at me until I too awake (it's unnerving). At which time I walk with her back into her room, pull her covers up and leave. This chain of events happened in the early, early morning hours on the 12th. But then at some point, Sade snuck back into our room, laid herself down on the floor and fell asleep without pillow or blanket. When Eric woke up for work he discovered her there, put his pillow under her head, and covered her with a light robe.

Morning Sade and Tuck:

Jackson and Sade are pretty good little playmates. They spent the morning building tracks and playing games. This pic cracks me up as Sade is somewhat horrified that I am taking pics of them not dressed. But truly it can't be helped since they are not dressed ALL OF THE TIME.

After getting ready and upon leaving the house we discovered firefighters and this burned out car just around the corner. I talked with a firefighter that told me it somehow caught on fire, but no one was hurt. Thank goodness!

Amy had asked me to pick up McKinna from a friends house for her. Car selfie:

After picking her up we went to meet Amy and Liam for breakfast/lunch at Babystacks. I am not normally a breakfast eater, but oh my goodness the carrot cake pancakes at Babystacks are TO DIE FOR. Seriously. So good.

After eating the kids and I ran some errands. First we stopped to buy Father's Day cards and gifts. Jackson lobbied hard for the beer card, but ended up choosing another.

After more shopping and a trip to the library, we stopped at the post office to mail a card to my Dad. Sade writing him a note:

While she wrote Jackson and I took more car selfies:

We headed back home and then I left to get my cars smog checked for the 3rd time! While waiting I did some reading:

It is too long of a story to type up, but I am thrilled to report that my car finally passed! It's kind of a miracle and I do believe direct heavenly intervention may have taken place.

Later that evening we went to the school for the uniform sizing night. Jackson and Sade modeling the new Losee Lions spirit shirts:

Then we went to Chili's. I never, and I repeat never like to eat out twice a day (hello weight gain), but we had a kids eat free coupon and Eric wanted to go, so of course I obliged. After we made a quick stop at Costco.

Sade doing a bit of watermelon choosing:

We all like watermelon, and I feel as though we eat quite a bit of it, but usually can't eat an entire one before it goes bad. I kind of think I need to start splitting one with another family.

Busy day.

FYI: Megan was a girls camp, hence her absence.

Piano Recital

You may remember that about 5 months ago Megan finally decided she would consent to piano lessons. Yippee! And guess what, she took to it like a fish takes to water (luckily not like a fish out of water).

Her first ever piano recital was held a couple of weeks ago. The theme was Disney Movie Classics and Megan performed, "Chim Chim Cher-ee."

A sampling:

With her fellow students, and of course Melinda (her teacher) who is pretty much one of the most fantastic people you could ever meet:

She is currently working on a number of primary songs for one of her Young Women value projects. As soon as she has mastered them she is planning on being my pianist one day during singing time. Can't wait.
