12 X 12 - May 2010

Well I started my day off with a run.

And I have to tell you, it is not going all that well. I am up to 1.4 miles, and have not thrown up, however everyday when I come home I feel horrible for hours! It is not that my body hurts, I mostly just feel sick to my stomach and really low on energy. I hope it gets better or this is going to be a very long 4 months!

After getting home I got the kids ready for school, which involves making Megan her lunch.

Jackson and Megan leaving for school:

Sadie and I then headed out to Wal-Mart. I will not go into details, but I do not understand why Target can find helpful associates, but Wal-Mart cannot!

Sade's helping me make lunch:

I spent some time on the couch watching Ellen. I don't usually watch Ellen but she is giving away a car, and I am going to win it!

Megan spent some time working on a journal for activity days.

Sade's and Eric:

After dinner I went to Young Women's, where we made bread and jam.

Later that night, while in bed reading, I heard a loud thumping noise that came from Jackson's room. When I went in to investigate, I discovered he had rolled right out of bed. Luckily he landed on a comfy pillow.

Baseball Wrap

For the past few months, Megan and Jackson have been playing Baseball. Well Megan has been playing baseball, and Jackson has been playing T-Ball. I will start with Megan's team:
THE RED SOX!!!

Megan did really great this season. Her swing improved, and she consistently got on first or second base every time she was up to bat.

Running Home:

Playing Pitcher:

And Catcher:

Now on to Jackson's team:

The BISON!!!!

Eric and I coached this team, and had a lot of fun.

How can you not have fun when you have crazy kids like these?

Jackson did really well this season. He is a consistent hitter, fielder, and managed to remember to always throw the ball to first base (no easy task for a t-baller).

Running Home:

My 2 Boys:

I had a lot of fun, but am looking forward to having my Thursday nights back for a few months.

Nickname

Jackson has two really good friends at school. Recently I discovered that they call each other by nicknames. So without further adieu, I introduce you to:

JUMBO!!!

Doesn't it suit him perfectly? I haven't stopped smiling for days.

Mother's Day - 2010

My Mother's Day celebrations started off on Friday morning at Megan and Jackson's school with Pastries with Parents. We shared this event with Dad's, since the kids are out of school for Father's Day. Too bad Eric had to work, but it just meant extra pastries for me!

As we were leaving Sadie sat her little self down, and said (or I should say yelled,), "I'm not leaving!"

One of my potty training tactics was to tell her in order to go to school she had to learn to use the potty, because teachers didn't change diapers. Well since she is now potty-trained, she of course thought that she could just stay at school with Megan and Jackson. Already she wants to leave me!

On Sunday morning I woke up to these cool MOM shaped pancakes, courtesy of Eric.

And also to these flowers:

Gerber Daisies: My Favorite

Along with cards and coupon books from Megan and Jackson.

Megan also made this AWESOME poster for me. She had Eric take her to the store to buy all of the supplies. You really can't beat a homemade gift.

We went to church and then I spent the rest of the day napping and hanging out outside.

Happy Late Mother's Day To Everyone!

Milestones

We have experienced a few milestones this past week.
First, the Poopy Potty Presents finally did their intended job!

Sadie is now completely potty-trained!

This past week she also switched from her crib to her toddler bed. She was so excited, and thankfully has made the transition without problems.

And finally, Jackson has completed a long-awaited milestone. He is now a two-wheeled bike rider!

I would like to thank Jackson's friend Eli, who is a full year younger than Jackson and learned to ride his two-wheeler a few weeks ago, thus providing the needed motivation.

Is It May Already?

Once again I seem to have been on a blogging break. This time I can't blame computer or camera issues, but rather just the general busyness of daily life. So a bit of a catch-up.

1. I'll start by finally welcoming the warm weather!!! And I mean finally! The 80 degree temps this week have brought us into the backyard for the start of a water and swimsuit filled summer.

One of my little blond haired beauties.

2. Eric spent some time in Dallas, Texas and sent me this picture of him from his phone.

He is standing on the X in the middle of the street where President Kennedy was shot. I am pretty sure he sent me this picture to spark my jealous streak, because he knows how envious I get when he visits a historical sight without me!

3. I have mentioned before how I positively love the crossing guard at my children's school. She often gives them treats when they show her that they received an "A" on a test. Usually this treat is fairly small, but yesterday she was giving out full-size candy bars and packs of gum!

I think she must spend every dollar she makes buying treats and toys for the kids. The other day she gave Jackson a book!

4. Lastly, I completed my 90 day P90X program! I miss Tony already. However, it appears I will not be resting for long, because for some reason (truly against my better judgment), I have agreed to participate in a 180 mile relay race in September. We start in Brianhead, UT and run through St. George.

Now, I need to mention a few things:

First, I don't run. I mean AT ALL. Friday night I decided to run a mile, just to see how well I would do, and the results were not pretty. I will spare you the details, but just know the details involved throwing up.

Second, I truly only committed because some of my very favorite women will be running it too, and I just could not pass up the opportunity to spend a few days with them.

We will see how it goes. I do have 4 months to train, and am hoping in that time I can curtail the puking.
