Spring Break - Part 1 - Triathalon Training

Although our hike was enough adventure to last me for a while, we still had a lot of Spring Break left!
We spent quite a bit of it training for a triathlon that Megan and Jackson are participating in this Saturday.

To that end we took lots and lots of bike rides:

Megan and Jackson went running a lot (I did not):

And we made it to the pool once to practice for the swimming portion:

But it wasn't all lap swimming. We took some time to play too:

Jackson was the only one to brave the diving boards this time:

Did I mention I was the only parent in the pool with their children? I'm so cool I don't know what to do with myself.

See Spring break parts 2 and 3 below.........

Spring Break - Part 2 - Lake Mead

I mentioned in my hiking post about losing a shoe at Subway. Luckily they kept it for me, and doubly lucky it afforded the kids and I the opportunity to spend a late afternoon and evening at Lake Mead.
It was overcast and slightly windy, but that didn't stop Jackson from playing in the water:

Sadie attempted it, but soon realized the error of her ways:

It was lots of playing in the rocky sand for her from there on out:

Jackson eventually joined her:

Megan spent most of her time collecting shells and playing in the sand:

The fruits of her labor:

She also spent some time being gorgeous:

I wasn't the cool mom in the water with her kids this time. I spent the majority of my time on the blanket becoming one with nature:

Tucker did too:

For dinner we had an awesome picnic consisting mostly of crackers and easy cheese.

Me and my babies:

Spring Break - Part 3 - Bowling

At our house no break from school is complete without a little bowling. Happily we had some friends join us:

As per usual Sade played one game and was then done:

Cute bowling legs:

Jackson tried a new technique that involved falling to the ground:

Megan played well:

But not as good as me! I killed it:

146 baby! You can bet I rubbed that in Amy's face. She only got a lowly 87. :)

Some other spring break highlights:

We saw The Croods. Megan and I really liked it. Jackson and Sadie said they enjoyed it but found it a little weird.

Megan went with a friend to a Hockey game.

And......we ate a lot of ice cream.
