Bear Lake - The Pool

The cabin we stayed at at Bear Lake had access to an awesome pool right next door. And since getting wet at the lake proved not to be enough for us, we spent a lot of time there.  It had one large pool, a big hot tub, and this awesome kiddie pool that was perfect for the 4 and under set. I couldn't stop smiling while I watched these two play:

As an aside, there was a lady sitting right next to this pool that kept getting rather annoyed whenever she was accidentally splashed by any of the little kids. I did mention that this was the kiddie pool, right?

First Day Of Pre-School 2012

Baby Sade started pre-school today! She could not wait to go, and has been counting down the days for weeks.

Some highlights, according to Sade:

She made a new friend.

Her teacher said she was very good.

She also said that she is quite the peacemaker.

She has 6 kids in her class. 3 boys and 3 girls.

She informed me that the boys played with the boys, and the girls played with the girls.

They had recess and were able to play for a "loooong" time.

She had apples and string cheese for snack.

When I asked her if she liked preschool, she said, "No! I LOVED it!"

I also asked her if she had a good time. She responded with, "Not a good time. A GREAT time!"

She can't wait to go back.

I missed her.

Bear Lake - The Lake - Day 1

The day after Jackson's baptism we went to Bear Lake to spend a few days with Eric's family.
We spent our first afternoon and evening hanging out at the cabin. Eating, playing games, and watching movies.

But on our second day we headed out for a full day at the lake. It wasn't very busy and we were able to get a great spot where the water stayed shallow FOREVER! Which in theory is great if you have small children, but in practice can become more complicated when they start wandering off far, far away.

We all spent a significant amount of time on the boat.

Sadie loved it!

Unitl it was my turn to go tubing. Apparently while I was out there she had a breakdown and could not be consoled. Poor Sadie baby. For the record, tubing is much more painful than I remember it being. One turn was more than enough for me.

Luckily Jackson and Logan were immune to the pain and went multiple times.

Meanwhile back on the beach Nate thought up something awesome! Attaching boogie boards to his Suburban and then pulling us through shallow water. Serious amounts of fun.

The kids lining up for their turns:

Sade would not take another boat ride, but she thought this was a fabulous idea:

Jackson and Megan both loved it too:

I really, really, really wanted to be able to do it standing up, but alas could not:

But neither could Eric, so I felt a bit better about it:

Of course we also spent lots of time playing in the sand. Sade and Dauge are best buddies, and were never found far from one another:

Bear Lake - The Lake - Day 2

Day 2 at the lake was spent pretty much like day 1. Boating, swimming, playing.

Although there are only teeny tiny waves at the lake, the boogie boards proved to be all sorts of fun. Not only were they good for being pulled behind a Suburban, they also got a lot of use as surf boards:

Sade and Dauge again:

Megan and C.J.:

Logan and Jackson:

Playing in the mud:

Bocce ball!:

Sadie, Sadie pretty baby:

Jackson and Megan spent a lot of time boating on day 2. And although I was not there to witness it, apparently Megan got up on water ski's for the first time!

Coming in from a day of boating:
