Sade's Update

Oh Sadie. Now 2 1/2, I thought I would do a re-cap of what she is saying lately, and the things she really loves.

If someone does her wrong, she most definitely will tell us about it. With her brow furrowed, and her voice full of indignation, she now relates this story to us nearly every day:

"A girl took my 2 cars I was playing with at Nursery class. That wasn't very nice. We need to beat her up!" (Oh dear. For the record we do tell her each time we do not beat people up.)

She loves to ride her princess scooter.

She calls the computer: pooter

And the remote: mote

She was laying down feeling her ribs the other day and told Eric that she had a marker inside her body.

Megan dressed her up in this ensemble and Sadie told us all her name was Yee-Haw.

She uses the term Boo-Yah liberally. As said the other day, "I just went to the bathroom. Boo-Yah!"

She's a screamer.

She's also a tattle-tale. Wonder who she gets that from?

Speaking of Megan and Jackson they always send her to ask me  for things. For example if they want a popsicle they almost always send Sadie in to ask. I think they figure it is hard to say no to so much cuteness.

When asking for help she always says, "Help me, help me, ayudenme, ayudenme." (obviously from Dora The Explorer)

We were at a wishing well and I told her to make a wish before she dropped in her money. She recited this  from Dragon Tales, "I wish, I wish, with all my heart, to fly with dragons, in a land apart." Do you think she watches too much television?

She has what I believe to be the cutest curly pony-tail on the planet.

She bosses us all around.

She insists on putting on her own shoes.

She loves to play hide and seek.

She adores all princesses.

After getting ready for church she finds Eric, Megan and Jackson and shows off her dress and hair. She then twirls and waits for them to tell her how pretty she looks. If they say she looks nice or beautiful, she says "Yes, but do I look pretty?"

She is a girly girl, who makes her opinion known, and can always hold her own. I adore her.

Utah Trip

Last week I decided to take the kids to Utah to visit my mom. It was seriously great! I don't think there is a much better place than Logan in the summer. We did a lot of fun things while we were there.

We visited 4 different parks!

We saw Despicable Me and all loved it.

We went to Willow Park Zoo.

Watching the monkeys.

Feeding the ducks.

These cranes had crazy hair, and made an incredibly loud honking sound.

Which Sadie did not appreciate very much.

We also went to visit my Grandma in Idaho. She turned 90 this year.

I was able to meet with my good friend Kate a few times.

We also went to Riverdale, which is a hot springs resort in Idaho. The hot springs are perfect for my kids who are very accustomed to warm water.

I had to physically pull Jackson up the steps to the slide the first time, but once he went down he realized how much fun it was.

The first hour we were there, only 3 other people were there too! A few more people came over the next few hours, but it was never crowded.

My kids with Grandpa and Grandma's dog, Annie.

We did a lot of fun things, but I think the most fun was sitting on the back porch every night, enjoying the beautiful weather eating popsicles. How did I not get a picture of it?

12 X 12-July 2010-Road Trip Edition

July 12th (last Monday) happened to fall on the day I was taking a road trip (BY MYSELF-with the 3 kids) to see my mom in Utah. It is about an 8 1/2 hour drive, and I was a little nervous. I can't remember a time I drove that far by myself, let alone with the kids. Anyway, I woke up at 5 am to get ready, and look who was already awake:

I don't understand how she is not sleep-deprived.

Eric packed up the car and we were on our way. Am I the only one who takes extra-bedding, and my own pillows on trips? I don't sleep well without my own pillows!

On our way, right on time I might add!

Unlike Megan I was exhausted, so I stopped and bought and energy drink. I have never bought one before, and when looking at them decided to buy the sugar free version because it only had 10 calories. HUGE MISTAKE! It was quite possibly the grossest drink ever, and I could only gag down 2 sips before giving up on it.

We had to make quite a few bathroom breaks, which meant quite a lot of hand washing. I can't even blame the bathroom breaks on the kids. I don't usually drink anything in the mornings, but when I do it causes me to have to use the bathroom about 15 times in a 2 hour period.

During our drive we passed the lavender fields, WHICH WERE SO COOL! I rolled down the window to get a picture, and the smell was incredible.

Here is how the kids looked much of the way. Mostly watching movie after movie.

We stopped in Orem to eat at The Spaghetti Factory!

Sade's modeled her new to her D.I. glasses during and after lunch.

Amazingly Megs took a quick nap for an hour or so.

Driving, driving, driving.

The trip actually went very well. Even Sadie seems to be out of the crying in the car phase, which makes me think we are entering a new era of life.
