12 X 12 July

I am not an early riser, but since church is at 9 am, I have to be one on Sunday. However this Sunday we all slept in, so we were a bit late. I had to go in and wake my little sleepy head Sadie so she didn't miss breakfast.

Eric almost always makes pancakes for breakfast on Sunday's, which the kids all enjoy, but I feel contributes to our lateness.

Doing Megan's hair. Notice Megan playing her DS. She hasn't put it down much since she got it for her birthday.

Every Sunday we walk out to get in the car and see our FOUR newspapers waiting for us in the driveway. I do love couponing, but I think I will be downgrading to one newspaper when my contract is up.

See this little woman? It was her first day of nursery. Eric tried to take her, but since she is such a Daddy's girl, and Eric is a softy she threw herself down on the floor and refused to go. So I took over and marched her in. I hung out with her for a few minutes and then snuck out. When it was time to pick her up she was sitting on a chair and would not come to us. I think she was a bit mad that we had left her there.

After church Jackson made this cool plastic cup tower. In my house plastic cups have made a very cheap and apparently very fun toy for the kids. They make towers with them, play bowling with them, and of course try and master the fast stack game.

Megan spent quite a bit of time playing with her new toy.

Eric and Jackson spent a few hours doing one of Jackson's favorite things: Building Tracks.

Here I am doing my second most hated chore (but one I do everyday), emptying the dishwasher. Laundry is my most hated.

After dinner I headed out to a Primary Training Meeting. As you can probably see from this picture, the temperature in my car read 116 degrees. Now it wasn't 116 degrees yesterday, but it was 110 degrees. 8 years ago I would have found this heat unbearable, but now I have really acclimatized. Regardless, it was hot!

I came home to wound up kids since Eric is such a good dad and plays and plays with them. It was a good day.

"Are you an early riser?
Have you acclimatized to the heat?
What is your most hated household chore?"

Sadie is adorable-she is looking so grown up! I can't believe she is in nursery! And she stayed! Amazing!
I will be going to 1 newspaper too! Its crazy!
I agree with the heat...you just gotta deal with it...as long as I don't have to work in it!
Most hated household chore: hands down-mopping or sweeping the floors! So I just don't do it!

I think my favorite picture is Jackson with the cups, his face is priceless! I am an early riser but I think if I had no children or guys to take care of I would sleep in til noon every day. Dishes are the worst. I recycle and try to do my part but I love to buy paper plates just to slow down the constant dishes. I like to think I am OK with the heat and then I go out after 11am and want to die. Is that acclimated?

I was just having the "early riser" talk with Al on the way to work this morning. I would love to get a good 5-6 hours of sleep a night, instead of my 8-9 hours. I always feel tired. Ideally waking up at 5 am would be great! Exercising, reading the paper, sewing...the things that cannot be done with little ones (or at least the things I cannot do)
I am so acclimated to the heat. I got so tired of people asking last year, while pregnant, if I was miserable. I go from an a/c house to a/c car to a/c work, then to the occasional cool pool. The only warm part is the in-between!
Housework-- I loathe dishes, thank goodness Al is a neat freak about the kitchen. I love doing the laundry just hate putting it away.

I am an early riser by nature...but my kids woke me up at 6:10 a.m. and I was totally annoyed due to a bad night with little kiddos.

I am totally acclimated to the heat...used to think people were crazy who were outside when the sun went down....now I do the same thing and am okay.

Most hated chore...floors and showers/tubs. Dave usually does the kitchen floor for me :)

Cute pictures of your kids ready for church. Dontcha just love them in their Sunday best? Also, you look really cute in your black and white outfit.

Yes. I go to bed really early too, usually around 9:30pm.

Yes, but I wish it wasn't so constant throughout the summer. A really good storm that cools everything down for a week would be great.

Cleaning bathrooms. Yuck.

I know I say this every time, but Sadie looks so much like you. It just cracks me up. What a cute family you have.

The part about Eric being a softy and you marching Sadie in reminds me so much of Fluke and me. When Abby gets her shots, he usually tears up while I'm holding her down.

I only get up early because I have to, it is nowhere near that hot here but I'll take heat of the summer over the stupid, cold winters any day and I hate mopping.

I hate doing the dishes when the dishwasher needs to be emptied. I don't hate laundry but it is the never ending chore. Floors are my least favorite. I think I will be turning into a hermit this summer to stay away from the heat. I was been gone almost two weeks in Utah and loving the weather there though.
