Spring Break On Repeat

My mom and Ken (Grandma and Grandpa) were here visiting for a couple of days last week, and we pretty much did exactly the same things we had done on Spring Break the week before!
First up: Bowling:

Jackson did his best to sit anywhere and everywhere he wasn't supposed to:

As did Sade:

She also declined to bowl and instead spent her time climbing the rails:

My mom and my kids:

The triathlon was only days away, so we snuck in some training time too:

Countless games of Old Maid were played:

Along with countless Thumb War competitions. Instead of saying, " 1, 2, 3, 4 I Declare A Thumb War",  my mom taught Sadie the refrain,  "1, 2, 3, 4 Shut Your Mouth And Say No More." It has been a nice addition to our home.

Just like on Spring Break we indulged in ice cream:

We also celebrated my moms birthday with her (just a couple of days early):

Me and my Mama:

Short but sweet trip.

Easter 2013

The kids woke up EARLY Easter morning, but patiently waited for Eric and I to drag ourselves out of bed. The Easter Bunny wisely hid their baskets in our room so as not to tempt them too much.
Basket examining:

Jackson received an awesome Harry Potter pop-up book that fascinated him for quite some time:

Then it was time for the hunt!

The bunny filled the eggs with candy and money this year:

Then it was time for a bunny themed breakfast, courtesy of Eric:

Sade was rather fascinated with the twirl her dress provided:

Before church:

After church my mom and Ken arrived for a visit, bearing Easter gifts:

Then it was time for dinner! I always put Eric in charge of the meat. He excels at ham:

We topped off our Easter festivities with egg coloring:

The finished products:

Happy, Happy Easter!

Spring Break - Part 1 - Triathalon Training

Although our hike was enough adventure to last me for a while, we still had a lot of Spring Break left!
We spent quite a bit of it training for a triathlon that Megan and Jackson are participating in this Saturday.

To that end we took lots and lots of bike rides:

Megan and Jackson went running a lot (I did not):

And we made it to the pool once to practice for the swimming portion:

But it wasn't all lap swimming. We took some time to play too:

Jackson was the only one to brave the diving boards this time:

Did I mention I was the only parent in the pool with their children? I'm so cool I don't know what to do with myself.

See Spring break parts 2 and 3 below.........
