Bowling - Summer 2014

I have managed to take the kids bowling a grand total of once this summer. To our good old standby: The (extremely cheap) Silver Nugget!

A little more than half of the group wanted to bowl without bumpers so that is just what we did.

Poor Sadie, Sade could not get her ball down the lane without it going in the gutter.

But on her very last frame she managed to hit the pins and knocked 3 down, giving her a game total of 3!!!

On the other hand Jackson did great on the first game and ended up getting a 69, which has to be a non-bumper personal best.

Megs did very well and ended up with a non-bumper total of 94!

During the second game we switched to bumpers on one lane so happily Sade ended up doing a lot better.

Jackson's 10th Birthday Celebration

Jackson started off his birthday with a 7 mile run. He usually runs about 5 miles but wanted to run a personal best on his birthday.

After Eric got home from work it was present opening time!

He received money, gift cards, different cars items (MicroChargers, Monster Trucks) an ITunes gift card (from Megan) socks, sports equipment AND.......

A Wii U, which he wanted with all of his heart and soul:

For dinner he chose Macayo's:

And then chose to go to the Adventuredome! Heaven help me. The Adenturedome grosses me out. The entire place smells like old ketchup to me. Bleck.

Jackson has been dying to ride the new El Loco roller coaster. It was scary!

After riding every ride (except the SpongeBob 4d movie) we headed back home for cake! Jackson chose red velvet cake this year:

We also let Megan blow out the candles, since she missed blowing any out on her birthday:

I think it was a perfect birthday for my kid who loves running, video games, and thrill rides.

At 10

At 10.....

He is not a flip-flop wearer. He wears socks and tennis shoes every single day.

He runs at least 3 miles, but usually 5 every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning.

His favorite color is blue.

The kid is such a picky eater!

He eats about 10 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones.

He smiles for pictures on command.

He needs a good friend his same age that lives close by.

He loves to play Clash of Clans and Minecraft.

At recess last year he started some sort of Michael Jackson dance group. Apparently they would all get together and practice dance moves.

He does things ALL OF THE TIME to needle his sisters.

When he gets into trouble (not often) and I have to give him a bit of a lecture, he just listens quietly and takes it in. The exact opposite of his sisters. They are prone to arguing.

He's known to sneak candy and hide the wrappers behind his bed.

His endurance level is off the charts. When we go hiking he would choose to run up the mountain if we would let him.

He hasn't yet hit a big growth spurt and continues to be one of the smallest boys in his class (he is also one of the youngest every year).

He has not mastered the ability to clean quickly. Slow and haphazard are two words to describe his cleaning style.

He's a good little singer and I am hoping I can get him to join the school choir this year.

If he has money, he has to spend it. No saving for him.

He is a closed mouth smiler.

He has lost some of his reading mojo. He needs to find something that compares to Harry Potter.

He is a great kid, and I am thankful every day for him. Happy 10th birthday Jackson.
