Student's Of The Month

Both Jackson and Sadie were chosen as the first student's of the month for their classes this year! They celebrated with pancakes with the principal, and received certificates.

Sadie's teacher said, "Sadie is a model student. She is a shining example of what a student of the month should be."

Jackson's teacher said, "Jackson is always on task and is always ready to lend a hand. He never complains about doing anything and is a great team player."

Just a net result of my perfect parenting.

Just kidding. They are perfect all on their own. :)

An Afternoon With Sadie

Oh man, I love this girl. And I love that I get to spend every afternoon with her after Kinder.
Just a few pics of one typical afternoon.

She is always STARVING after Kinder, so we start with lunch. If we have tomatoes, that is what she has:

She is also a green smoothie fan:

She is always up for a game. Go Fish this time:

Our afternoons always include a little cleaning. And she is always my helper (sometimes unwillingly, but not usually):

Once she earns her keep, I allow a little (or a lot) of computer or T.V. watching:

She's a first rate gal.

Pumpkin Carving 2013

Our pumpkin carving once again took place AFTER Halloween this year. We just plum ran out of time. Again.

This is as close to the pumpkins as Megan got. She just wasn't interested in carving this year (I wasn't either).

Sade and Jackson cut and cleaned their entire pumpkins this year. They rebuffed any help.

We ended up with one rotten pumpkin that got knifed:

Jackson chose a football design:

While Sade chose the Seahawks logo:

She took the carving dead serious:

Halloween 2013

Halloween! Strangely it didn't seem as busy as years past. We did miss the schools Halloween carnival (as we were out of town), so maybe that is why.
INTRODUCING:

Megan As A Football Player:

Jackson As Percy Jackson
(his favorite book character from this year):

And Sadie As A Cheerleader:

(She was going to be Hermione until she tried on the costume and deemed it to "puffy." She has an extreme aversion to clothes that are not form fitting).

More pics of the chicklets:

Happy Halloween!

Trick - Or -Treating

I know I say it every year, but I find Halloween to be one of the most heart-warming of holidays. I just love all of the people who buy candy, decorate their homes, and make it so fun for all of the kids who are trick - or -treating.
My neighborhood is not so heart-warming, so once again we traveled to another neighborhood for the evening. Jackson and Sade were my only trick - or - treaters this year. Megan deemed herself too old. Sigh.....

But she was willing to take Sade up to houses that she was nervous about:

Look at all of these kids. I just love it:

Sade flat-out refused to visit this particular house:

Glow-necklace juggling:

Lovely Halloween evening.
