Fathers Day 2012

Sometimes I get behind of blogging and forget to post things. Such as this Fathers Day post!

Since Eric and I are continuing our liquid breakfast and lunch diet, making breakfast for Eric on Father's Day was a cinch!

We classied it up by putting it in his #1 Dad mug:

After church the real excitement began. He had at least 20 different homemade cards and letters to read. He loved every single one.




The best part for all of us was reading what the kids wrote about him in church. Sadie thinks he is a 100 years old and weighs a zillion pounds.

Soccer Champs

Eric has been playing soccer on a Friday night co-ed team for the past couple of years. For the majority of that time they have played on an over 30 league, but last season they switched to a different complex and started playing in an open league. An open league is made up of players of all ages, which means their team has had the oldest players, by far.

During the championship game Eric had to play goalie, since their goalie was injured. 

And they ended up tied at the end of the game.

Since this was the championship and thereby could not end in a tie, it went to a 5 kick kickoff.

 Teams alternate kickers, and whichever team scores the most goals, wins!

It ended up coming down to the last kick. If Eric stopped the goal, they would win. If he missed they would lose.

Of course he stopped it!

Which meant they were league champions!

Apparently older not only equals wiser, but also better and faster.

4th Of July 2012

The 4th of July is not my favorite holiday. At Christmas and Halloween I am more than willing to take my kids to each and every event and activity that comes along, but July 4th rolls around and I don't want to leave the house. Try not to gasp, but I have NEVER taken my children to Seastrand park to watch the fireworks!

Anywho.....While Eric worked most of the day, I took Sade to swimming lessons and then hung out at home with the kiddies and cooked. As previously mentioned I am not entirely festive, however I tried to put a bit of effort into a red, white and blue brownie dessert.



Eric finally arrived home from work and brought fireworks with him! Unwrapping and checking them all out is a highlight for Jackson and Sade.



Then it was time to head off to our friends the Baird's for a feast and fireworks.

After dinner, while the kids swam, we adults played Racko. I was the big winner!



It finally became dark enough for fireworks! I thought our neighborhood was crazy on the 4th of July, but Amy and Kade have some neighbors that put ours to shame. There was a constant barrage of big fireworks that made me feel better about not taking my kids to Seastrand.

The night ended with our grand finale, which consisted of lighting multiple boxes of worms! It was the kids favorite part.

Summer Flipping

In our quest to do as much as we can indoors, last week we took an excursion to Flip - n - Out.

It is sure great to have an older sister to play with you.

 The trampolines, which you would think would be the biggest attraction were played with the least. Strange.





As per usual, I do believe Sadie had the most fun:

Bucket List Item #16

My dreams are coming true people!!!

Late last week Eric informed me that he had to travel to Arizona for the weekend to do some work. There have been a few places in Northern Arizona that we have been wanting to see, so the kids and I gladly decided to go with him.

He was going to be stopping in Williams to do a couple of jobs, and then was to travel to Holbrook for another.

Two days before leaving I had an epiphany! I seemed to remember seeing a map at one time that showed Winslow, AZ to be on the way to Holbrook!!

Sure enough it is!

I could barely contain myself!

Bucket List Item #16 was about to come true!

I wasn't the only one that was excited. While driving Sadie said (and she wasn't even being sarcastic!), "I can't wait to stand on the corner!"
