Blue & Gold 2014

I have it in my mind, however I am not sure if it is true or not, that Dad's and sons are supposed to make the cake for Blue & Gold? Regardless of whether or not that is true, I was thrilled that Eric was in town this year so he could take on the daunting task of cake making.

The theme was Mexican Fiesta. They spent time Friday night finalizing their idea and then early Saturday morning they headed to the store and then came home and got to work.

Their design included cake AND cookies:

They had to jerry-rig a cookie sheet with tinfoil rolls to get the proper effect:

Perfect:

Fresh out of the shower (Jackson) final decorating:

Introducing their Mexican Fiesta themed Chips, Salsa, and Guacamole cake:

There were lots of cute cakes there:

He received the award for most "Realistic" cake:

Good job Eric and Jackson!

Sadie - 2013

I have about 3000 pics of Sade I haven't blogged, even these from 2013! So to catch up a bit on last year:
1. For quite a while Sade would say "dramatic carry" and then do this:

I had lots of pics of her doing this in various settings, but lost them all when our computer crashed.

2. I enjoy this picture I snapped of her falling asleep while taking her seat belt off:

3. Just a girl watching t.v. eating out of a bag full of turkey:

4. I love this angry, closed eye picture of her:

She HATES it when I use the flash while taking her picture.

5. Speaking of angry:

6. And finally, one day Sade took it upon herself to dust the top of the cabinets:

She's a keeper.

Superbowl 2014

As we are SUPER Seahawks fans, the SUPERbowl was kind of a big deal at our house this year. As Eric left for church meeting Sunday morning he was greeted by this little, and I do mean little surprise:

Disgusting.

Who would taunt us this way?

Just to put it into perspective:

Our Seahawks troll (yes we have one, no don't ask) didn't take kindly to the Broncos flag and retaliated with fire:

After church we headed over to the Baird's (Bronco's fans) to watch the game.

We attempted to be gracious winners after the truly embarrassing showing by the Bronco's and I am happy to report that we have remained friends.

Also a week or so after the game we found out that our old neighbors and still good friends deposited that scrap of Bronco's fabric in our yard. Good thing our revenge was already exacted by the score.

Flipper Bowl 2014

This years Flipper Bowl was epic. I don't have pictures of all of the decorations and work that went into it, but believe me when I tell you that it was awe inspiring.

The festivities started off with a tailgate party. We were a bit late getting there which proved to be fortuitous since it meant more people were outside to see our grand entrance:

Along with flag waving, there was also lots of honking and woo-hooing involved.

After dinner it was time to head inside for the main event.

This year for the first rounds men played against men, women played against women, boys 18 and under played against each other, and girls 18 and under played against each other.

I actually played this year but was eliminated in the first round.

But Eric, Jackson and Sadie were victorious and moved up the leader boards quickly.

Eric and Jackson were eliminated right before the semi-finals, but Sadie kept taking opponents down and made it to the Women's Divisional Conference Championship. She is seriously good. Seriously.

It was a tough battle but she ended up losing by 3 points (she missed her 3 of her extra points after touchdowns). But overall she ended up 8th out of 94 people!

The final battle took place between Gina and Cody, with Cody as victor!

Fun night.
