Summer - Week 3 - Mon-Wed

We started week 3 of summer vacation with a trip to Flip-N-Out!

I didn't anticipate Sadie enjoying herself, but I was completely wrong. I think she had the most fun out of all of us. She just ran from one thing to the other, often without telling us where she was going.

Week 3 also brought swimming:

Summer - Week 3 - Thur/Fri

Thursday morning when I discovered it was only going to be 98 degrees, the kids and I took a trip to the Clark County Heritage Museum. I thought it was great, and it is super cheap! $2 for adults, $1 for kids. I would definitely recommend it.

We visited the ghost town:

Sade took a rest in one of the many trains they have on the property:

And toured the old buildings on the property:

Sade's didn't love this part so much, and told me, "Hurry and take the picture. This place is creeping me out."

She told us all of mannequins on the property creeped her out too:

I told Jackson and Sadie to look cool in these pictures and this is what they gave me:

I believe they more than lived up to my request.

We also checked out the inside displays. We all took turns typing on the old typewriters:

I typed: "Sarah, Megan, Jackson and Sadie McClellan were here."

Megan typed: "I like to eat pineapple."

Jackson typed: "We are family."

And Sadie typed,  "I am a rock star."

Before leaving we had some snacks on the patio. While eating a fruit roll-up Sadie remarked,

"This tastes just like squirrel."

Thursday night was the very last night that Primm was offering free rides to locals, so we decided to make the trip out. Now last time we went to Primm most of the rides were closed due to wind. But since the weather was great Thursday, I thought we would have no problems. I was wrong.

We took our time driving out, and did not arrive until 7:45 p.m., which happens to be the exact time they close! What??? It never occurred to me they would close so early. It was depressing. At least for me and Eric. I think Megan and Jackson were secretly a little relieved, because they were very nervous about riding Desperado. I however may never get over the disappointment.

So we stopped at Yogurland on the way home to drown our sorrows:

Friday morning brought more swimming:

And then we had the real excitement of the week happen. We spent all of Friday afternoon and evening cleaning the house in anticipation of our 4th of July weekend guests! It was a busy week.

Pismo - Part 2 - Wedding Festivities

As I mentioned before, the reason we were in California was to attend the wedding of Mallory & Todd!

The wedding itself took place on the beach, and was beautiful! However, I neglected to bring my camera so I have no pics of it.

After the wedding it was time to PARTY at the reception:

The drinks for the first toast had been delivered about 30 minutes before the toast happened. All of the kids wanted to drink their apple cider right away, but we kept telling them to wait until it was time for the toast. So finally when it was time, and everyone was drinking their drink, we heard one of the kids say, "Don't drink it yet! They haven't brought the toast out yet." We also heard one ask, "When are they going to bring the bread out." It was quite cute.

Pretty soon it was my very favorite part of a wedding reception: DANCING!

Sadie had no shortage of dance partners:

But her favorite partner was her dad:

She would get quite angry when Eric would dance with me. She loves him. Big time. The other night at dinner, she announced to all of us, "I'm in love with Dad."

Pretty soon it was time for the bouquet and garter toss. I would like you to take a good look at the picture below:

That's right. That is my husband lining up with all the single guys for the garter toss. Is he trying to tell me something?
