Another Afternoon Spent Bowling

At what point (or age) do we get rid of the bumpers and have the kids transition to real bowling?! It is quite the dilemma as I predict scores in the low teens, and fear their self-esteem may never recover. It already took a hit when they sadly realized being good at Wii bowling did not correspond to being good at real bowling.

Happily Sade decided to bowl this time. But only for one game.

Her form involves lots of shimmying, hip movement and ball swinging.

It also involves this while waiting for her ball to hit the pins:

When we asked her what she was doing, she said, "I'm just practicing my yoga."

Megan's bowling would take a major hit if we transitioned to non-bumpers. I do believe that each of her balls averages at least 2 hits on the bumpers on the way to the pins.

I am sure Jackson also has quite a high bumper hit average:

He has a unique form:

Getting some love:

The bowling alley is the perfect place to Gangnam dance, as demonstrated by Jackson:

Eric and I were stellar as usual. Even bowling without bumpers:

He leaves everything he has on the floor:

I am leaning towards another year of bumpers.

Thank you for the Gangnam Style link. What the heck?!? I think I will go crawl back under my rock again. Poor poor Megan, we will adopt her until this fad fades :)
Why ever get rid of bumpers? They are one of the greatest improvements in the game of bowling ever. Now if only we could stop the shoe sharing...
