I will start off by saying that I buy a yearbook every year. I loved, loved receiving yearbooks as a child, and so have always bought them for Megan. I still have all of mine from every year of school (except first grade-which I really miss having because for the life of my I can't remember one of my first grade teachers name. I attended three Elementary schools during first grade and it really bothers me that her name escapes me). So this year Megan brought home her yearbook order form and I noticed that the price was $25. We have always paid $15 in the past, so I was a bit taken aback. I happened to mention this to a few people and they informed me that they do not buy yearbooks. I was truly shocked. I truthfully just assumed everyone purchased them. So I am wondering how skewed my world view is. Do you buy yearbooks?

even though I think $25 is a little much), and I will be buying 2 next year when Jackson starts Kindergarten.

I was amazed at the price as well. I have been buying yearbooks for my kids every since Emma was in Kindergarten. I am buying one this year. Yes, just one, the kids are going to take turns having their friends sign it. I guess when they get older they will have to fight over who gets to keep it. I will also be saving my money to buy 2 next year.
It is crazy how many people from the senior yearbook that I have absolutely no memory of!
I did not have yearbooks until Junior High. My husband thinks Elementary yearbooks are absolutely ridiculous, but I still buy one (it's our compromise)because my kids love to look through it.
I am all for yearbooks! I think it is fun when you are still friends with some of those from elementary school to look back and see what everyone looked like. And thank goodness my mom bought them for me...with Facebook and reconnecting with Elementary school friends, I would know who half of them were without consulting my year books!

I agree with you that yearbooks rock! I don't think I have any from elementary school (at least I don't know where they are) but they were cheap paper ones. The ones from high school I treasure! It's so fun to read what people wrote and remember what it was like back in the good old days. I'm actually super surprised not everyone buys them, even though it is $25 a pop.
Ok Sarah....here's the shocker. When they get to High School they are $75 each! Ouch. I buy them for my kids because I enjoyed mine, and I enjoy them even more the older I get.
$25 does seem extremely steep for an Elementary School yearbook. I think my HS one was around $100, but it was really nice and thick, with a nice hard-bound cover. I will for sure buy the HS one's for my kids, but I'm not sure about the ES one's...a class picture is good enough for me.
I paid $15.00 for my son's yearbook. I ordered it at the beginning of the school year. I noticed that they are handing out order forms again and the price has raised to $20 or $25. Next year try to order one at the beginning of the school year, maybe you'll notice a difference in price. :)
Bought one for CJ!! Ours was only $11. It would be hard for me to fork over $25 but the kids love them!!
I love yearbooks! I wish we would have had them when I was in ES. I get them for Bryce and he loves to look at them. I will continue to buy them and I think I will have to buy them for all the kids even when they are both in the yearbook. Just can't have them fighting over memories. My brother has one of my yearbooks and it makes me mad just thinking about it. Wished my parents would have bought me one too, I can't remember anything that year and he lives in Texas. Go for it no matter the cost you can't replace those memories for any amount of money.
